Who We Are

Kobuk River Cabins, LLC is family owned and operated by Alex Sheldon and his daughter Eva Sheldon.

Alex Sheldon has over 50 years of local expertise hunting, fishing, gathering, camping, and sled dog mushing in the upper Kobuk region. He and his wife Colleen live in Kobuk. Alex has lived his entire life in the upper Kobuk region. This experience earned him the prestigious Alaska Federation of Natives Hunter/Provider of the Year Award in 2006. He is a former five time Iditarod musher. He loves to share stories and having Alex as your guide will be very entertaining.

Eva Sheldon grew up in the upper Kobuk region. She lived her childhood alongside her father learning how to hunt, fish, gather, and camp in the winter and summer months. She now lives in Anchorage where she works and attends college studying for her masters in business administration.
